Austrian Ophthalmology Society (ÖOG)

The Austrian Ophthalmologic Society was founded in 1954 and currently represents more than 1.000 ophthalmologists. As part of the 2022 congress, a panel discussion took place on the topic of “sustainability in cataract surgery - how do we reduce surgical waste?” Subsequently, all heads of the 25 eye departments in Austria were asked to determine what changes could be made in their respective departments or hospitals to reduce surgical waste.
