CMS revises Surveyor Infection Control Guidelines

Based on the Surgical and Pharmaceutical Waste Subcommittee’s and the OICS Waste Task Force’s efforts with guidance from the AAO, CMS has revised their Surveyor Infection Control worksheet guidelines. The revisions appear on p. 89 in the attached document, which clearly differentiate eyedrops from injectables and allow eyedrop bottle expiration dates up to manufacturer labeling.
